Adventurous days of vacation Day 9

Rainy, gloomy day. Went to see The Conjuring with the girls and parents.

Today is rest day for the upcoming drive home tomorrow. Another 584 miles.

Yippee!

Adventurous days of vacation Day 8

Mom and I went to this cool thrift store in Newington NH called Savers.

Enjoyed my morning cup of joe and bought 3 Boston Red Sox tees as I can't get them where I live. Love my boys!

Later in the day the girls and I went to Canobie Lake Park in Salem NH.  This is a big amusement park of 85 rides, games and shops.

The weather was great and the place was packed with people. Standing in line for 30 minutes for a ride.

This ride called the Equinox scared the living bajeebers out of my daughter. I thought she was going to back out for sure, but she didn't. Proud of her courage.

The girls and I also went on the Blue Heron boat ride to view Canobie Lake.

Of course the girls picked this ride called the Boston Tea Party last, which you get soaked, right before we leave.  Ohhhhh and the best part is I forgot the towels at home that I packed just for the wet rides. Needless to say.....I spent $30 on 2 freakin towels....... Can we say ripoff.

Some other rides.

So I spent $8.50 on 3 waters to hydrate. Ughhhhh. Highway robbery!

Fried dough for the kiddies to share.

Pretty good day I must say. We drive home and ate D'Angelos subs at 2115.

Adventurous days of vacation Day 7

Today we woke up early and went to the flea market. My baby brother showed up after not being hime from college for 8 weeks and came with us.

Mom states there are specific items rated as item of the day. (Ones you see at almost every table).
Popular item #1 Sock Monkey
                    #2 Banjo
                    #3 Lobstah traps

Lots of records (vinyl), old collectibles and kid stuff too. My husband would have loved this.

On the way home we stopped at the Daisy Farm (I think that's what it was called) and got fresh eggs and corn on the cob.

Went to lunch with my mother in law and my girls. Went to Applebee's. not my fav but its my job to keep her (my mother in law) happy! Had a good time chatting and spending time together! (Not non GMO friendly, but okay).
Chocolate lava cake that gave them "boo boo bellies".

What I love about NH ... Granola state! Lots of GMO free foods I can't get down south. Been eating pretty good (like I like to). Grass fed beef, fresh fish, non GMO snacks.

Yummy kabobs (chicken and steak) with corn on the cob for supper. Yummmm.

After supper the girls and I went to the park to play.

Park time is still fun even though they're big girls now. Luv my kiddo!

Adventurous days of vacation Day 6

Today we webt to Whales Tale Lincoln, NH. It's a water park for families. Started off a little rocky, but ended nice. I decided after this trip I really want a wave pool at my house...pretty awesome. The weather was great. We arrived at 1000 when they opened gates, but rides started at 1030, so we got first dibs on seats for the day.

Didn't get a whole lot if pics as my phone was not water friendly, but it was pretty packed here and fun.

Got to enjoy the hot tub twice! Luv it!!! Lazy river, wave pool and water slides.

We also went to the Kancamangus highway craft fair paroozing for goodies. Didn't buy anything but saw a lot of cool crafts. People sure are creative with their time.

All in all a good day!

Adventurous days of vacation Day 5

The weather was unkind today. Rained all day non stop.  The girls made quilts with my mother (the sewing queen).

        Jessy quilting

       Eden quilting

The finished products of both the girls.

We went to the 2 story Rockingham Mall especially to go to the Hello Kitty store because my daughter's friend's obsessed with Hello Kitty, but it was no longer open. (It has been 2 yrs since we went to it last). We decided to walk around and look though. No money spent which was great.

Ate some supper and played some UNO.
Pretty productive dead considering the weather.

Adventurous days of vacation Day 1

Stayed up late the night prior until 2200 making Kale chips for the ride ahead. NH bound for 9 days.

Woke up at 0330 to pack the car, make a coffee, drag 2 teenage girls out of bed (they actually dragged me out of bed) and stop to fill up on gas.

Finally started driving to our destination at  0440. The thought of driving 584 miles was utter nonsense at this time. I usually rely heavily on my garmin to take me places but this time my husband map quested my directions and I did it the good old fashioned way. NO GARMIN!

Lets just say the ride was smooth and faster than I thought it would be. The girls took turns napping and enjoying the scenery. My iPod kept me quite awake with my workout music on and my fav man of course...Eddie Veddar.

All was well until Hartford Connecticut!!! That is when you went from doing 70-75 down to a complete dead stop. And all for what? One lane construction. Ughhh.  This lasted a good 20 minutes. When you are stopped in traffic on the highway for that long, it feels like eternity.

All the signs were starting to look more familiar and the 584 miles was getting shorter and shorter.

Only had to stop 3 times. Once for gas and a pee break, once for lunch and a pee break, and once for just a stretch and a pee break. Now, you would think traveling with 2 teens it would be them wanting a break. NOPE...mom needed a break more. They never asked which was surprising.

Before we knew it...we were at our destination at 1430. Phewy! Long 9 1/2 hours. Greeted by my mother and 3 yr old nephew.

Ate a yummy supper and then off to bed we went. A very tiring day from sitting in the car.
